Wine and chocolate have enjoyed a long, successful marriage in many cultures around the globe. Much has changed with the advent of ecommerce solutions, but Scarlata Chocolate and wineries around Washington continue to extend the tradition of pairing decadent chocolates with classy wines.
Representatives from Scarlata, a Washington-based chocolatier that focuses on sustainably sourced dark chocolates, routinely visit the locations of wine experts like Obelisco Winery and Ambassador Wines of Washington for tasting events. For example, a recent event at Ambassador Wines brought together March’s Wine of the Month, the 2013 Estate Envoy, and Scarlata’s Cherry Cinnamon Truffle for its featured pairing. The event’s organizers also paired a dark chocolate truffle from Scarlata with the winery’s 2013 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon.
